Marie Power is the founder of MPower Consulting, specialising in Executive Coaching, Coaching Supervision, Psychotherapy, Team Coaching, and Leadership Development. With over two decades of experience, she is passionate about building coaching cultures; environments where coaching is woven into how people lead, learn, and collaborate.
A relational coach at heart, Marie believes meaningful change happens through trusted, transparent partnerships that unlock both individual and team potential. With a background in psychology and training as a psychotherapist, she brings deep insight into the psychological and political dynamics that shape organisational life. This perspective helps clients and supervisees navigate complexity, strengthen impact, and lead with greater clarity and presence.
Marie began her career at boutique consultancy Farrell Grant Sparks (now part of Grant Thornton) before becoming Consulting Manager at the Great Place to Work Institute Ireland, advising over 150 organisations on employee engagement and trust. She went on to hold global senior leadership roles in Talent and Leadership Development at Vodafone, Glanbia, Arvato Bertelsmann, and CarTrawler.
Her work empowers people to show up fully, lead courageously, and create lasting impact—within themselves, their teams, and their organisations.
“In the last year I worked with Marie as my Executive coach. We had several sessions over a 6-month period using a combination of assessments (e.g., Hogan) to more informal discussions around leadership style and more importantly self-drivers, values, and purpose for my own development. Having reached a level within the private equity industry of Managing Director, I was keen to carry out a formal self-review before setting plans in place for the next 5-10 years. Having worked at a Board level with several companies over the last 20 years, I have seen various types and styles of executive coaching and can clearly say that Marie was the best I have come across in this area. Marie's coaching and advice over this period was invaluable and helped me to identify my motivational drivers, values, and key strengths to develop the core pillars for building the next stage of my career. She has a rare gift from a combination of extensive practical experience, knowledge of appropriate techniques and a level of emotional intelligence to apply the textbook theory to the individual situation. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to others.”
Marie played a pivotal part in my career development at a time when I needed someone like her most. Being recently made redundant, Marie guided me through how to navigate redundancy, use it as a pivotal turning point in my career and guide me into finding a job that I am currently thriving at. Without her, I don't think I would have landed on my feet so well and am deeply grateful for her guidance and coaching through such a tough period of my career!
Marie was a really fantastic and personable coach, who brought the best out in me and has helped me immeasurably in my career development. Her experience and knowledge shines through and her approach strikes the perfect balance between being empathetic and understanding while also pushing you outside your comfort zone. Through her different techniques, you learn more about yourself, your style, and your approach and how best to utilise your own skills to improve yourself and that of your team.
I had the pleasure of working with Marie on a coaching supervision engagement. From the outset, Marie created a safe and trusted environment for our supervision sessions, one within which I was able to openly share the many challenges and questions that were arising for me over the course of my own coaching journey.
Early in the process, as part of the contracting phase, Marie clearly outlined the supervisory process, the commitments involved and encouraged me to identify my goals for the engagement. This set the tone for the entire engagement which Marie facilitated in a highly organised, ethical, and effective manner.
From a professional and personal perspective, Marie created and nurtured an environment which gave me space to reflect; to gain clarity regarding what was working well; and to explore the areas that I needed to develop further on as I progressed my coaching journey. Where relevant, Marie provided expert guidance and suggestions on alternative options or techniques based on her own extensive experience. Overall, Marie gave me the opportunity and space to develop my own self-awareness, and to learn how to harness my own capabilities to navigate any challenges that I might face in the future.
Marie brings extensive lived and learned experience both in coaching and supervision. I feel very privileged to have worked with her and I would highly recommend Marie to anyone looking to engage in supervision in the future.
Marie brings deep experience and expertise as supervisor and has been instrumental in my development as a coach. In our relationship, I have experienced firsthand how Marie brings courage, curiosity, and connection as supervisor. Marie has challenged my thinking, instilled a sense of confidence, and enabled new insights and learning from our time together. Marie is a phenomenal supervisor who brings significant strengths as a thinking partner who encourages and inspires people to think creatively around challenges faced. As supervisor in a group setting, Marie cultivates trust and psychological safety empowering everyone to learn and grow together through not only the support of her as our as coaching supervisor, but in facilitating meaningful connections, relationships, and shared learning across the group. Having the chance to connect with Marie and the wider group regularly throughout the year has been instrumental in increasing the impact I can make for my clients, and I could not have done this without Marie.
